The Declassified Collection is a small independent press. Write to [email protected] and a person reads it — this is a small press, not a support desk, so expect a reply from the person who made the book.
These terms cover what happens after you pay: printing, posting, replacing and refunding. If a question is not answered here, ask, and we will answer it plainly and then add it to this page.
Checkout is handled by Whop, which is the merchant of record for your purchase. Whop takes the payment, issues your receipt and is what appears on your card statement. Your card details are entered on Whop's systems and never reach ours — we never see a card number. Whop passes us what we need to fulfil the order: what you bought, the delivery address, an email address, and a telephone number that the carrier requires.
The total shown at checkout is the whole of it. The book, the shipping and the digital pack if you added one are charged as a single figure, and sales tax where it applies is calculated and collected by Whop as its own line on top. Shipping is a flat charge — one amount for the first book and a smaller one for each additional book in the same order — not a surprise added later.
If a price on the site is plainly wrong, a missing digit or a decimal in the wrong place, we will not quietly take it. We cancel the order, refund it in full, and tell you what happened.
Every document we print is a public record of the United States government and is in the public domain. It is free to read from its official source, we say so on each volume's page, and we link the free copy every time. You can read Archive 001 in full, for nothing, on this site.
What you are buying is the edition — the facsimile, the transcription, the notes and the binding. You are not buying access to the document, and we do not claim any rights over the document itself. We do own the work we added to it: the typesetting, the annotations, the cover and the design of the volume.
Every copy is printed when you order it. Nothing sits in a warehouse, which is why this takes weeks rather than days.
Your book is printed by Lulu, a print-on-demand printer, and posted from them to you. Production runs about seven to twelve days, and then the parcel has to travel. A real example rather than an estimate: an order placed on 2 September for standard mail was quoted dispatch between 9 and 14 September and arrival between 18 and 23 September. Those are Lulu's own figures for that order, and they move with the destination and the season.
You can check exactly where your order is at any time on the order page, using the receipt id from your Whop receipt. It starts with pay_.
Please check your delivery address before you pay, because the parcel goes where Whop tells us to send it. If you spot a mistake, write to [email protected] immediately and we will try to correct it before the book is printed.
Thirty days. If the book is not what you expected, send it back within thirty days of delivery and we refund the purchase price in full. You do not need to give a reason and we will not ask for one.
Write to [email protected] first so we know it is coming, and send it back in a condition that survived the journey.
If the book arrives damaged, misbound or misprinted, we replace it and you send nothing back. Photograph it if you can — it helps us tell the printer what went wrong — but a replacement does not depend on your producing evidence.
If a replacement is not what you want, we refund it instead.
The print job goes to Lulu as soon as your payment clears, which is what makes the timings above possible. So there is no reliable cancellation window. Write to [email protected] as soon as you can and we will try to stop it; once the book is in production we cannot, and the thirty-day return above is the remedy.
The digital pack is delivered as download links that expire after 72 hours. The links are signed, which is what keeps the files from being passed around, and it is also why they do not last: a link that never expires is a public file.
Expiring is not losing. Request fresh links at any time from the order page with your receipt id, as often as you need, for as long as we are trading. Nothing is lost when a link goes dead.
If a file will not download, is corrupt, or is not what the page said it was, tell us and we will fix it or refund it. Because the files are yours from the moment the links are issued, we do not refund the digital pack for a change of mind.
The Declassified Collection is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government agency, of the United States or anywhere else. We buy nothing from them, they approve nothing of ours, and no part of what we sell carries their authority. We print public records, add our own apparatus to them, and say plainly which is which.

The terms that apply to your order are the ones on this page on the day you ordered. We change this page when a practice changes, not to reinterpret a sale that already happened.
